CITY OF MALOLOS — More than 600 dancesport athletes from across the Philippines showcased their dancing prowess at Bulacan Open Dancesport Championships 2025, a national competition hosted by the province on September 14 at the Provincial Capitol Gymnasium here.
This year’s participants came from the cities and provinces of Davao, Lucena City, Nueva Ecija, Tarlac City, Quezon City, Makati City, Quezon Province, Isabela, Cainta, Calapan City Mindoro, Laguna, Las Piñas, and Bulacan.
Organized by Bulacan Dance Instructors Club (BDIC) Inc., the delegates proved their mastery in 142 events from the Juvenile, Junior, Youth, Tertiary Level, Adult, and Senior categories.
BDIC Inc. President Jon Jon Laurio expressed his gratitude to the Provincial Government of Bulacan for being an instrument to realize their goal and welcomed all the athletes to the province.
May Arlene Torres, the OIC department head of the Provincial History, Arts, Culture and Tourism Office, highlighted that dancesports can be considered as a form of arts and heritage, emphasizing the young athletes’ vital roles in promoting and preserving it.
On the other hand, Senator Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go expressed his support for the event through a video message, commending Bulacan as a premier destination for promoting culture and tourism.
“Events like this not only highlight world class talents but also the position of Bulacan as a premier destination for cultural celebration and sports tourism. Let us continue to promote unity, discipline, and creativity through sports and culture,” the senator said.
Meanwhile, the top three winners in each event from the six classifications were awarded during the dinner gala where Bulakenyas showcased their locally made Filipiniana gowns.
